Hey people, it's been on my mind now but I'd like to ask you all something and hear something back from you all - the UMAT students. So far, personally it's been quite a journey - we've always had this one-way relationship where I do all the work and talk and you people rest on the couch and all. But now, let's work on our relationships.
I'd like your input on this because I don't want to start it and it just dies and collapse. It's the community of people that make a place awesome and with your talent and knowledge I'd like to ask what you all think about us starting a UMAT forum together. Pure, down to earth UMAT forum open to the public? There's some materials in my possessions that could do good with you all and likewise I'm sure you all have things that I don't have as well. This is going to be all exciting and everyone gets to contribute more regularly as the more active posts will remain active unlike here, the more I write the more digging we have to go.
On the flip-side, if you all are cool with this, and promise to contribute and talk + participate, I can give it the green light and start the project. Above is just a sample image of a forum. Please let me know what you think, whether you'd like to hold hands with me doing this.
Kudos
i'm all for the idea. however, i just hope that this doesn't become like the UMAT section on MSO - that place is pretty dead, and no real discussion ever occurs. i guess i could offer some of my tips and, perhaps, materials ... i have been doing preparation for a while now and have devised some of my own tricks for each section :)
Yeah, doesn't sound too bad. So would the the blog and the forum all be rolled into one, and on the same website? The image you've shown above looks good.
Also, would there be any scope for discussion about the Acer UMAT booklets among those who have them? (No posting actual content for copyright reasons obviously)
yeah anything and everything related to UMAT should be freely discussed on the forum. I would definitely urge you all to contribute in discussions! Green, red blue book a-ok with me. Thanks for the feedback so far. :) always good to listen to the community.
I think it is a great idea!! but we would also have to be aware of not talking about the UMAT prep courses as possible lawsuits may arise....
oh and another idea would be to create an informational university thread, which details that process of applying to universities and such....
btw thanks alot for the website!!! it was so generous of you, thank you!
any reccomendations - icarus or medentry?
sounds like a greeaat idea to me! =)
and thanx so much for this website..
reaaallyy helpful!
i think medentry is better. everyone always disses icarus on bos and how there was this lawsuit about his company
Don't even think about icarus: the guy behind it is a serial bankrupt.

Be careful which prep course you go to!
Sounds Great, all for open source info, esp when I feel as though companies are taking advantage of desperate students. Thanks for the tips and help on here. cheers
